This is from letter in which Johannes Brahms described his stay in Pörtschach, on Lake Wörth.

In the summer of 2010, a hotel opened its doors directly on the lake promenade named after the composer, and Brahms’ lines could have been about this establishment as well. Its name: Lake’s – my lake hotel. Its objective: reviving the tradition of summer holidays out in the countryside. And to this end, a gleaming white luxury hotel has been erected at this historic location, featuring an open-air lounge, cabanas, bars, a spa, pools, and a beach club. This is the kind of establishment that one could find on the Côte d’Azur or in Ibiza – but here it blends in perfectly with the surrounding landscape and townscape.

Presently the hotel has forty (as of summer 2011 this will be increased to seventy-two) stylishly modern studios, suites and penthouses, all of which are equipped with iPod stations, espresso machines, books for borrowing, and a beach bag that is always packed and ready to go for the guest. And if there is a day when the weather does not permit a refreshing dip in cool Lake Wörth, there is still the large wellness area, complete with gym, saunas, steam baths, quiet rooms, and two separate spa suites for treatments in a very private setting. If you think this sounds like luxury and lifestyle with an international touch, then you are right – after all, Lake’s belongs to the renowned JJW Group, which also operates such first-class hotels as the The Ring in Vienna and other 5-star accommodations in London, Paris, Portugal, and on the Nile.
