The duo met as students at the product design course at Vienna’s University of Applied Arts. And as friends they discovered an important similarity: the sense of humor that they apply to the design of everyday objects. In 2004 Marie Rahm and Monica Singer founded Polka Product Pleasure and have been creating limited edition must-have designs ever since. They tattoo classic leather sofas, or join several different brightly patterned lampshades together to form their Doosey lamp series. The duo also created porcelain collections with beautiful patterns for Herend, the Hungarian porcelain factory. Their concept is unchanging: to enrich life with extraordinary, sensual, elegant products with a touch of humor.
