At the Schwarzer Adler one is spoilt for choice, for Kitzbühel’s only 4-star Superior hotel is the perfect holiday spot for winter-sport enthusiasts as well as for wellness fans. After all, it is less than a five-minute walk from the centrally-located hotel to the gondola lift that takes you up the legendary mountain, and the hotel’s imposing Black Spa, measuring over 1,000 square metres, is remarkable not only for its purist, elegant design, but also for its top-notch treatments. For the enlargement of its wellness area through the addition of the longest rooftop pool in the Alps and six modern panorama suites, the Schwarzer Adler was even awarded the “Austrian State Prize for Architecture” in 2008 as well as the “Travel Oscar” as the top local hotel. Just as award-worthy is the hotel’s own Neuwirt Restaurant, which has been awarded one Michelin star and two Gault Millau toques.
