The son of an Austrian innkeeper trains as a chef in top hotels around the world. Back in his hometown, he falls in love with the beautiful daughter of a local vintner. Together, they decide to launch a new project. The result: a stylish “Heuriger” featuring apartments and a bit of paradise on earth. Now, the “Heuriger”, the typically Austrian wine tavern, serves wild boar, pheasant, lentils, and many other typical products prepared in a light, health-conscious manner or according to ancient Weinviertel recipes.
The wine list features, among other things, a crisp Grüner Veltliner, an elegant Pinot noir, and even a varietal sparkling wine from that year’s harvest, hand-processed and fermented in the bottles according to the traditional Champagne method. Visitors can also have a look around the modern wine cellar, filled with stainless-steel tanks, that makes this high quality possible. A seminar room, offering a view of the oak barrels in the cellar, provides space for seminars and workshops on wine and its cultivation. Five apartments complete the Weinlodge. They are furnished in a modern and tasteful manner, and they boast one very important quality: they are extremely spacious.
