Wine tasting in Vienna and Beyond

Driving Tour: Austria's Grüner Veltliner has suddenly become the hottest thing on everybody's list. Until recently, wines made from Grüner Veltliner, the most widely planted grape in Austria, enjoyed only faint praise.

Now it inhabits vast sections of wine lists at bench mark restaurants, is beloved by chefs, and gets idolized by savvy sommeliers for its seemingly limit-less food friendliness (it goes with everything from oysters to Wiener Schnitzel).

If you have never tasted Austrian wines, now's the time to try them on this "tour of tastes". This unique tour is designed to visit vintners which will give the traveler a chance to taste wines from several wine regions of Austria such as the hills surrounding Vienna and Vienna itself (the only capital in Europe that has vineyards within its city limits!), the Burgenland (most Eastern province), the Danube River Valley (Wachau – a UNESCO World Heritage Site) and the Kamp River Valley. As true foodies we at Herzerl Tours are convinced that the taste and the "nose" of the different wines do a lot to compliment the regional cuisines and we prove it with the included meals.

Included services:
- 7 nights accommodation with buffet breakfast in four star hotels
- 6 dinners and 1 lunch in top restaurants as mentioned in itinerary
- wine tastings at well known vintners as mentioned in itinerary
- experienced guide for all walks
- transfers via public transportation
- taxes and entrances

Duration: 8 days

Cost: US$ U$ 2,685.00 per person, land only, group price of ten people (pls. inquire about costs for smaller and larger groups)

Season: spring & fall (best months are May & October)

NOTE:
The tour can also be taken in segments as a possible add-on to other trips. The Vienna & Burgenland segment costs US$1,475.00 for four overnights; the Vienna & Wachau segment costs US$1,975.00 for five overnights, each per person, land only.
