Almdorf Seinerzeit in Carinthia

Carinthia is one of Austria’s most under-appreciated provinces. The varied landscapes in the southern half of Austria lie a bit off the usual travel itineraries, which helped preserve their pristine beauty. This is the location of the Almdorf Seinerzeit, a hotel village with a unique concept: Its twenty-one spacious wooden “huts” come with fresh flowers, a great variety of books, board games for children and a balcony overlooking the valley, a terrace and a beautiful garden. Only natural material was used in constructing the Carinthian cabins, from natural sheep wool for insulation to gutters and hooks are made from naturally shaped trees.

When you return from a trip or one of the many activities in the immediate neighborhood, the table will be cleared, the cabin cleaned and a fire crackling in the fireplace. At the cozy village-restaurant Fellacher, the chef likes to spoil the guests with Carinthian lunch or dinner, using only local or regional products from surrounding farms. That’s what we call “gourmet kitchen.” To top it all off, relax in the Almdorf’s own spa, which offers spa treatments with all-natural ingredients. Herbal baths in the wooden tub, or hay baths will help you relax body and mind.
