Innsbruck

When it was first held in 1995, some people were rather skeptical whether Innsbruck could ever be associated with forms of movement other than those that take one up and down the nearby mountains, but the TANZSOMMER has become a great success and is now the biggest event of its kind in Austria.
In previous years, headliners have included performances by Strange Fruit and the Sydney Dance Company (both from Australia) as well as the Alvin Ailey Dance Theater and Parsons Dance Company from New York.

This year Innsbruck is looking forward to performance groups from the US, Canada, the UK, Austria, Germany, China and South Africa. Dance workshops for beginners and professional dancers complete the program. Don’t miss the unique experience of seeing the world’s best dancers perform exquisite choreographies amid the impressive background of the Alpine scenery surrounding Innsbruck.
