Open Air Music & Culinary Highlights
In July and August, the gothic spires of Vienna’s City Hall are an enchanting backdrop for two summer months of culinary and music delicacies that delight visitors and locals alike. The world-class musical performances are broadcast on a gigantic screen and are free to enjoy.
On 65 evenings, presenting more than 40 different productions and premieres, the program of the Film Festival is a splendorous celebration of tradition and the contemporary. Food vendors from some of Vienna’s best restaurants provide an unmatched culinary experience in the heart of the city.
A range of extraordinary artists and highlights, recent productions as well as opera film treasures will be presented in this year’s program: Anna Netrebko, Jonas Kaufmann, Danielle de Niese, Herbert von Karajan, Gustavo Dudamel, Christian Thielemann, Renée Fleming, Diana Krall, Eric Clapton, and Ray Charles. In addition, live transmissions from the nearby Vienna State Opera are also program highlights
