A Spring Awakening in Burgenland

Explore the “Kirschenblütenweg” (cherry blossom trail) by foot, bike or car and discover your favorite viewing spot. For starters, try the hillside church “Wehrkirche” in Donnerskirchen -- said by many to be the most spectacular view of all. Exactly when the buds will open is not an easy question to answer. Try to be their anytime from early- to mid-April. Pair the sight with a glass of red wine called “Zweigelt,” a local grape rich in fruity aromas with a nuance of cherry.
