Krems

Krems has been an important economic and cultural center on the Danube River for more than a thousand years. Here, the majestic Göttweig Monastery stands protective watch over the city’s largest winery, Winzer Krems.

This producer invites you to take a unique journey of wine discovery. “SANDGRUBE 13 Wein.Sinn” leads you on an 8-station trail to experience wine and to gain fun insights. Start out in the vineyard where 18 different grape varieties are grown. The tour continues through the wine archives, maturation cellar, winemaking facilities and culminates in the cultural center. Enhanced with multi-media and active participation, you experience how wine is so much more than just a beverage. Wine is a cultural treasure and inspiration. And it has always been a dedicated work of love here in Krems. Guided tours in English are available daily by appointment. A wine tasting and bread are included.
