"Ice Age" on Dachstein
Only three minutes from the Dachstein top station awaits the visitors another attraction beside the "Dachstein Sky Walk", also located at almost 3000 meters above sea level: the Dachstein Ice Palace allows visitors to explore the mysterious realm of glacier regardless of the weather.
The Ice Palace takes you deep into the interior of the Dachstein glacier. The journey is a magic experience of ice, sound and light. The Throne Hall, for instance, boasts a representation of the Greek Acropolis. Other highlights include ice replicas of Diego, Sid, Manny and Scrat, the stars from the movie ‘Ice Age’. They were created by five famous Chinese ice-carvers and weigh up to 700 kilograms.
