Mozart House

Today the former apartment of the Mozart family houses a museum which documents the story of the house and the life of the Mozart family.

The museum was opened in 1996 and spotlights the life and work of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. A special focus is on Mozart’s journeys and on his sister ‘Nannerl’. Home décor and lifestyle of those days are presented in the ‘Ambiance Room’.

The spacious 8-room apartment offered enough space for entertainment and for the exhibition of pianos from foreign piano makers which Leopold Mozart sold on commission.
