Leopold Museum

The art-collecting couple Rudolf and Elisabeth Leopold gathered artworks worth incredible Euro 575 million and donated them to the Museum in 1994. Thanks to them the Museum today has a unique permanent exhibition featuring paintings from the 19th and 20th century.
One of the museum’s main attractions is the world’s largest Egon Schiele collections consisting of 44 oil paintings and some 180 sketches. Also in display are works by Gustav Klimt, Oskar Kokoschka and Albin Egger-Lienz. The light-flooded hallways present pieces of applied art by Austrian artists.
