The medieval square in front of the Golden Roof is transformed into a traditional Austrian Christmas Market where you can sample Tyrolean fare and buy Christmas presents. The picturesque and medieval old town with its pretty arcades, century-old houses and the famous Golden Roof is the perfect setting for this beautiful and traditional Christmas Market with its large and lighted Christmas trees, a carved manger with life-sized statues and numerous lovingly decorated stalls. The Christmas Market in Innsbruck's Old Town has been held for over 30 years now. There are beautifully decorated stalls selling traditional food, drinks, souvenirs, Tyrolean handicrafts, and Christmas decorations inviting you to take a stroll and enjoy. Experience folk music and see traditional Tyrolean costumes daily at 5.30pm.

This year's Christmas Market will be the first time in Innsbrucks main shopping street the Maria Theresien Strasse.

Marktplatz
The market for the entire family!
You will find a fabulous world of booths and activities.
On 4th December at approximately 6:30 p.m. there is a ghostly and flaming atmosphere when the traditional "Rattenberger Perchten" are visiting the Christmas market and its guests.
On 6th December Santa Claus will come on the Marktplatz - as all the years before - by helicopter and will bring all children a special surprise.
Musical performances, items for winter and Christmas time and nice foods offer a wide variety for every taste and whish.
Fascinating light compositions and the typical Advent atmosphere - this is the market for everybody who wants to enjoy those weeks before Christmas Eve.
