Winter in Innsbruck - the best place for non-skiers too

Follow the Trapper's Snowshoe Trails
Basically it’s a brand new approach to a very old concept: the use of snowshoes for roaming freely around deeply snow-covered landscapes. In Innsbruck and its 25 holiday villages you will find perfect conditions for snowshoe outings, leaving lasting impressions and pretty large footprints. Snowshoeing isn’t just about health and fitness fun, but also has a wonderfully romantic factor that appeals to all our senses.
For guests with a Club Innsbruck Card, the internationally renowned Alpinschule Innsbruck (ASI) organizes free guided snowshoe hikes every Thursday, starting at 9.45am at Congress Innsbruck.

Moonlight toboggan rides
Everybody who has ever tried can tell you that tobogganing down a snowy run or quiet alpine road is a lasting experience & guarantees an evening filled with laughter. A relaxed walk will get you up the mountain - for the competitive amongst you a perfect chance to inspect run-conditions and check out the best way on how to approach the turns. The reward for so much walking is a pleasant evening with your friends on a mountain hut and some warming Glühwein... And as the moon comes up over the dark trees, mount your "Rodel" (Austrian for toboggan) and go down the road at breakneck speed (...or a little slower!)

Sleigh-rides
It's really more like a winter dream and you will definitely feel like a princess (or a prince) wrapped up in a warm blanket. You might even feel tempted to graciously wave at the poeople you pass when the two sturdy horses draw your carriage through the stunning Tyrolean winter scenery. Relax, sit back and hear the tinkling of the bells...More.
Catch your breath after a descent on the Olympic Bobsleigh run
Ever imagined sitting in a tight bobsleigh with your mates, rushing down the ice-pipe with 100km/hour? This one is a one-off experience you will be hard pressed to find elsewhere...More.
