A Walk through Linz’ Movie Locations

""Jump" is a psychological drama about the 1928 murder trial of celebrity photographer Philippe Halsman. Directed by Joshua Sinclair, “Jump” recounts the mysterious death of Halsman’s father while on a hiking trip in the Alps with his son, and the arrest of Halsman.
Philippe Halsman was convicted of patricide and sentenced to ten years in prison. Not until well-known international figures such as Albert Einstein, Sigmund Freud and Thomas Mann rallied to his cause, demanding a fair trial, was Philippe freed and left for Paris and later New York where he worked as photographer for "Time Magazin". Commissioned by the likes of Marilyn Monroe, Brando, Picasso, Nixon and the Kennedys, Halsman soon became one of the most famous photographers of his time.
Linz, Europe’s culture capital of 2009, served as backdrop for the movie. Numerous scenes were host in the city’s historic old town and on Pöstlingberg, Linz’ local mountain. The soundtrack was recorded by the Bruckner Orchestra Linz.
With "Jump2Linz" the Linz Tourist Board offers visitors the opportunity to visit the original venues where stars Patrick Swayze, Ben Silverstone and Anja Kruse were shooting for "Jump" and discover the city from a new and different perspective.
The “Jump Journey of Discover” included 2 nights, a bus trip to Pöstlingberg, original movie posters, Jump city map, and a food voucher. The package costs from Euro 89 per person in a double room.
