Burgenland is the easternmost, newest and flattest of all of Austria's nine provinces.

Burgenland is a long province, with the narrowest stretch being only 4km wide. It borders on Lower Austria and Styria in the West, Hungary in the East, Slovakia in the North and Slovenia in the South.
