His travels were a source of inspiration for Mozart. The idea to tour Europe from Mozart’s viewpoint, is the main thought behind the "Mozart’s European Travel Routes".

Mozart’s journeys through Austria

1st journey (January 12 – mid February 1762): Salzburg – Munich
  • no towns are mentioned

    2nd journey (September 18, 1762 – January 5, 1763: Salzburg – Vienna
  • September 26, 1762: early departure from Passau; arrival in Linz in the afternoon; overnight stay at the “Zur Dreifaltigkeit” inn, Hofgasse 14. Today this building accommodates the Café Centrum. Mozart holds a concert at the “Zur Dreifaltigkeit” inn or at the Landhaus, Promenade 39/Eingang Minoritenplatz
  • October 4, 1762: departure from Linz in the evening; arrival in Mauthausen where he stayed overnight.
  • October 5, 1762: continuation of the journey from Mauthausen to Ybbs (Wolfgang performs on the organ at he Franciscan church) and Stein.
  • October 6, 1762: arrival in Vienna; stay in Vienna (October 6 – December 11, 1762) and (December 24 – 31, 1762), return journey from Salzburg
