Seeschloss Ort

The Seeschloss Orth is a 17-th century castle and has achieved fame through being portrayed as a hotel in the German TV series.

According to legends the castle, which was first mentioned in a document in 909 as "Veste Ort", developed from the remains of a Roman fortress. Emperor Friedrich III. had the massive tower and some of the window and door frames built.

The Seeschloss has a beautiful triangular courtyard with bowers and a late gothic outside staircase. A sgraffito dating from 1578 shows the water marks of the floods of Lake Traunsee.
