The Loisium Visitor Center opened in 2003. Designed by renowned American architect Steven Holl, it includes a striking cube-shaped visitors' center and half-mile-long underground wine museum fashioned out of a 900-year-old wine cellars. The most popular and best wine here is the peppery Grüner Veltliner.

Lentos Kunstmuseum Linz
The clear and coherent structural design, created by Zurich-based architects Weber & Hofer, provides Linz with a new museum of modern art of international. Situated on the banks of the river Danube, the 130 meter long, 3-story structure generously meets all requirements of a contemporary art museum. The appearance of the building is remarkable for its transparent glass casing, attractively lit at night, adding a modern beacon to the skyline of Linz.

Hangar-7, an exceptional glass and steel structure originally intended to be the home of the aircraft of the Flying Bulls aircraft fleet, has been developed into a combination of aircraft hangar, art gallery, restaurant, bar and event location.

Friendly Alien
Kunsthaus Graz, dubbed "friendly alien" by local residents, the building, designed by Peter Cook and Colin Fournier, has an organic shape with a skin made of iridescent blue acrylic panels. At night, the building glows by way of a computerized lighting system beneath the transparent skin. With large, tube like "nozzles" for windows that stick out from the curved roof, the structure undeniably reminds of an outer-space creature that has landed in the middle of Graz's historic town center.

Dachstein Sky Walk – The Alps’ Balcony
The new “Dachstein Sky Walk” is located at 2700 meters above sea level, on a sheer cliff dropping down 250m. On clear days you can see all the way from the Dachstein to the Slovenian Triglav Mountains in the south and the Bohemian Forest in the north. This platform is higher than the one at the Niagara Falls or the Iguazú Falls in Brasil. Enjoy awe-inspiring Alpine views without climbing rope and riks!

Sabathi Wine Cellar
Erwin Sabathi’s new Wine Cellar is located on the “Old Wine Route” in Leutschach. The modern complex was built into an hill and features a wooden roadside façade and only little roof surface. The building blends harmoniously with its scenic surroundings and looks more like an art gallery than a wine cellar.

Ski Jump
The Large Hill is located on Bergisel mountain on the southern outskirts of Innsbruck. In the fall of 2002 the new ski jump, a masterpiece of modern architecture designed by the star architect Zaha Hadid, was officially opened after a construction period of about one year. The jump’s sweeping design caused quite a sensation across the world and is without doubt one of Innsbruck’s architectural highlights and an important landmark.
The slim, 50m tall, tower features a cafe and sun deck affording breathtaking 360° views of the town and Nordkette mountain range.

Swarovski Crystal Worlds, Wattens
The Swarovski Crystal Worlds were designed by the famous multi-media artist Andre Heller. Commissioned by Swarovski to create a “magical kingdom of crystals”, the hill, looking like a giant face spouting a waterfall, accommodates a wonder world of crystal consisting of seven linked chambers. The Crystal Worlds are dedicated to the vision of Daniel Swarovski, founder of the world's leading producer of full crystal. Since it opened in 1995, millions of visitors have descended on the site.

Jochdohle – Austria’s Highest Restaurant
After a 7-months construction period the Jochdohle opened its doors on Stubaier glacier. Located at 3150m above sea level, Austria’s highest restaurant changes it looks depending on the season: in the winter the building is submerged in snow while in the summer it seems to be floating above the glacier field.

The New Hungerburg Train
Zaha Hadid’s futuristic-looking train adds new sparkle to Tirol’s capital! The star architect’s design fascinates with its expressive yet elegant simplicity and refined austerity. Construction started with the edifice at Congress and continued with the stops at Löwenhaus, the bridge across River Inn, the tower at the Alpine Zoo and the station on Hungerburg. The route from the center of Innsbruck to the Alpine Zoo is new, then the train continues on the old line. The new Hungerburg train connects the city center with Hafelekar, the top station of Nordkettenbahn at 2269 meters above sea level, in 20 minutes only.

Hittisau Fire Station & Culture House
The new Fire Station and Culture House are located in an old quarry on the edge of a narrow and steep hill. The Fire Station, occupying the basement of the complex, is built into slope and faces the main road. This part of the building is distinguished by the use of concrete, galvanized steel and glass. Set on top of the fire station, the two-storied Arts and Culture Centre addresses the village through a broad glass front.

Coop Himmelb(l)au’s buckled residential tower clings to the former gas tanks and St. Stephen’s cathedral is reflected in the modern glass façade of Haas House. The Gasometer consists of four former gas tanks which were built in 1896. In the 20th century the complex was turned into a residential and commercial area with an entertainment center, apartments, a student’s hostel, and an event hall. The Gasometer is a stunning and very Viennese example of the re-use of an outmoded industrial structure. Every year the complex attracts a great number of visitors interested in architecture.
