Even 10 to 12-meter high peaks can turn into the challenge – when they are artificial ice towers.
All those who want to give ice climbing a first try, will find everything they need at the 10-meter tall ice tower in Uttendorf am Weißsee. Expert supervision is offered daily from December to February.

Cramponing Up The Waterfall
Ice climbing freaks have been flocking to the Tirolean Kaunertal for over 30 years. With its many icefalls ranging from easy to moderately difficult, the valley is a true paradise for climbers.
Short approaches, drilled belay stations and, typically, easy descents make ice climbing here a first-class nature experience for all levels of experience.

The scenic Stubaital valley is still an insider’s tip among ice climbers. The 20-meter tall ice tower on Stubaier glacier and two spectacular natural icefalls ensure exhilarating climbing fun.
The "Ice Age Stubai" program focuses on novices and offers instruction in a compact ice environment up to a gradient of 85° degrees. Classes include basic climbing techniques as well as belaying methods and training in the ice climbing garden. Advanced climbers learn, among other things, the double rope technique and how to lead a climb.

In the winter numerous icefalls turn the Pitzal into a paradise for novice and experienced ice climbers. Even moderately advanced ice climbers will find plenty to keep them entertained in the Ice Arena on Pitztaler glacier at 2800 meters above sea level and with the many icefalls in the valley. Die-hard ice climbing freaks should head for the 100 meter high Martinswand where, in the 16-century, Emperor Maximilian also had to struggle with the steep, partly overhanging, rock wall.
