Fun Uphill Transportation

Sometimes being transported up the mountain can be as much fun as sledding it down. Why? Because Snowcats, tractors, and skidoos are used!

Walking up the mountain lugging your sled along is defenitely out. Cruising up the mountain with a 120-PS strong motor-scooter is definitely in. And it’s fun! The skidoo taxis in Obertauern accommodate up to 7 passengers; the sleds are attached to its sides. The Gnadenalm toboggan run is 1.5-kilometers long and floodlit in the night. Starting point and finish are located next to Gnadenalm in Obertauern. One skidoo ride costs Euro 3.

Take a ride in a Ratrac or Pistenbully in groomer in Saalbach-Hinterglemm! To get to the start of the 4-kilometer long natural toboggan run at Spielberghaus you can either walk about an hour or take a Snowcat. Simalalm (4.5-kilometer long run) is only accessible by Snowcat.
Saalbach

Kohlschnait near Bruck an der Glocknerstraße boasts a 3-kilometer long and floodlit natural toboggan run that is groomed and can be covered in artificial snow if the need arises. The "Sled Express" is a modified tractor with a trailer that transports guests comfortably up the snow-covered mountain. And one phone call and the tractor comes to pick up the tired winter sports fans.
