All New
In Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis in Tirol some 140,000 sq meters of terrain between 1400m and 2000m were set aside for kids. With the 50,000 m² “Kinderschneealm” at the mid station of the Komperdell lifts Serfaus offers a true paradise for kids with mini disco, conveyor belt lifts, ski carousel, zoo, Dino land, a kids’ restaurant, the Murmli truck and a tea parlor. The Tubing Park and Mini Skidoo Course are open to families outside the ski class hours. Especially exciting is the Murmli-Trail, a ski slope with interactive stations for snowball throwers. The ski resort also offers extensive childcare services: there is a kindergarten for tots from 2.5 years with kitchen, playrooms and bedrooms.
In Fiss the mascot Berta, a colorful cow, accompanies kids in their holidays. Berta’s KinderLand boasts 6 conveyor belt lifts, a beginner’s lift, a swing, a wave run, slides, a foot organ and a Bambini Tent. The kindergarten is open for little guests from 3 months. The restaurant and the kiddy planet are reserved for ski coaches and their charges. Ski cubs will find everything they need: sleeping facilities for toddlers, two separate playrooms, Berta’s storage room with wardrobes and closets for all children, a new play tower, child-friendly sanitary facilities and a kitchen to warm up baby food.

The Ice Age Is Back
The Ice Age is dawning in the Tirolean Tannheimer Tal. At least in the new Adventure Land which will open its doors in mid December 2006 on Gigge Hi. The 1000 square meter Snow Park was modeled on the movie “Ice Age” and boasts animals which used to live in the Tannheimer Tal during the last Ice Age: mammoths, saber-toothed tigers and cave bears. All animals are made of rubber foam and therefore perfectly suitable for kids. In the Snow Park kids are introduced to snow and skiing in a fun and entertaining way with the help of wave runs and ski carousels.

Safety Bars & Tirolean Wild West Villages
N’Ice Bear is the name of the Winter Land for Kids in Tannheim which offers – besides a fairytale land – plenty of safety features for kids such as child-proof safety bars on the chairlifts. While in normal chairlifts safety bars can be opened during the ride, the ones in Jungholz are locked and remain closed until the chairlift reaches the top station and the bars are raised automatically. The safety bar furthermore consists of two barriers instead of one to make sure children cannot fall off the lift. Another cool feature: the chairs hang 10 centimeters lower than usual to make boarding easy as pie for kids. That’s the technological side of the park.
Now to the colorful kids’ realm: four years ago the Tirolean town in the Allgau region opened up the N’Ice Bear KinderLand, a safe winter paradise for three to eight year old cubs. The ski area offers two child-proof 4-seater chairlifts, two magic carpets (conveyor belt lifts), a slalom and a giant slalom run, a wave run, a bunny slope and a snow carousel. And when your offspring has enough of skiing, then there are a Sioux Village, two warm Fairytale Igloos, a giant pipe slide and a world of animals waiting for them. The animal world is only accessible via an ice bridge and offers a small loop trail, a small log cabin and wild animals made from plastic.
