Ski Instruction For Kids

SalzburgerLand: Mauterndorf Ski School
In Mauterndorf in the SalzburgerLand region children learn about Alpine safety in an entertaining and playful way and romp about in the giant Smarty Alm indoor playground. This is how cool safety can be! Located at 2000 meters above sea level there is a dedicated area where the avalanche awareness classes are held. Designed to educate and familiarize everyone with the risks of avalanches, search and rescue conditions are reconstructed and search techniques and first aid are taught. Participants will also learn to recognize avalanche terrain and do simple snow evaluations. And to make sure that kids don’t get bored there is the Smarty Mini Club. The 200-square meter Smarty Alm is the largest and most modern indoor play world in the Salzburg Alps. It boats a two-storey climbing castle, a play wall, painting and playing corners, a crèche, a kiddy disco and an iceberg movie theater. The caretakers at Smarty Alm also organize outdoor activities like platter sliding, snowman building or sledding. Reservations must be made one day in advance.

Learn-to programs are offered for mites from 2 years: they are brought from the Alpenrose Hotel Family Spa Resort up to the roof where they will learn how to stop and turn in no time at all. A pink hotel bus brings bigger kids to the Bobo ski class and picks them up again in time for lunch back at the hotel. This way parents can enjoy their own day to the full knowing that their kids are safe and having fun! The hotel even offers an in-house ski rental store.
