Markets in Linz

Urfahraner Markt
The legendary Urfahraner Markt, which is more like a village fair than a market, is staged twice a year: once in spring, once in fall. Urfahraner Market attracts over a million visitors each year. In the five exhibition halls you find about everything the local industry produces: from sowing needles to furniture to farm vehicles. But the major reason why people come here is the amusement park with bumper cars, giant ferries wheel, stalls selling cotton candy, cream roles and gingerbread hearts, live entertainment and fireworks. People have been celebrating here since 1817, the year Franz Joseph I. consented to having a market here twice a year.
In 2007 the Urfahraner Spring Market is held from 28 April to 6 May 2007 and the Fall Market from 29 September to 7 October 2007.
