Bars and Nightlife

The final whistle in the stadium is at the same time the start signal for the nightlife in the host cities. Read on to find the coolest spots for hot nights …

The Copa Cagrana in Vienna is located on the shores of the Danube and is reminiscent of the Caribbean not only because of its excellent cocktails mixed by the city’s best bar tenders, but also because of the salsa sounds and great food from all four corners of the world. Also located on the Danube is one of Vienna’s trendiest hangouts, the Hermann Strandbar where you can relax in deckchairs while slurping a cocktail and listening to music.

With its cluster of cocktail bars the Bermuda-Dreieck in the center of Vienna – only a few hundred meters from the famous St. Stephen’s Cathedral – is the city’s most popular draw. Legendary haunts include the "Roter Engel", the "Kaktus" and the "Krah Krah".

Besides the MuseumsQuartier, the Gürtel ring road has developed one of Vienna’s most vibrant nightlife scenes. The bars and clubs that settled beneath the elevated tracks of the U6 offer a wide range of different music styles against the background noise of the rattling tram.

Rudolfskai in Salzburg offers one nightlife venue after the other including the popular Irish pubs “Shamrock” and “O’Malley’s”, and the American cocktail bar “Roses”. The “Republic” on the left shores of the Salzach is a good place to go and chill out and socialize.

Innsbruck’s main draw are the railroad viaducts, called Bögen, where a row of bars and pubs line Ing.-Etzel-Straße all the way from Museumsstraße to Messehalle. “Stadtcafé” in Universitätsstraße is a popular café-cum-restaurant with a large bar and changing live acts. The rooftop “360°” bar on Maria-Theresien-Straße offers spectacular views of the city and cool lounge music.

In Klagenfurt the “Bermudadreieck” in Herrengasse is the heart of nightlife entertainment. Only a 3 minutes’ walk away is the “Teatro” cocktail bar in Theatergasse. For more nightlife venues contact the Klagenfurt tourist office at +43 (0) 463/ 537 2223
