Following the motto "Football Festival", fan zones will be set up throughout the Old City of Salzburg. Two gigantic video walls plus a stage, a food court, pagodas for the sponsors and a VIP area will be set up on the Residenzplatz square and the Mozartplatz square.
Between June 7 and 18, the three preliminary matches (June 10, 14, 18 at 8:45 p.m.) at the European Championship stadium in Wals-Siezenheim will also be broadcast on the screen on the Kapitelplatz square, which will be designed as a Family Park.
The entire fan zone will accommodate some 25,000 visitors during these three days. The fan zones in Salzburg are open from 2pm to 11pm between June 7 and June 29.
Salzburg fan zones at a glance
Everyone entering the fan zone will have to pass a security check. The fan zone can be accessed in the mornings (outside business hours) without the security check. Access is free of charge, except for the VIP area. No tickets will be available - admission will be on a first come, first served basis. The fan zone will be closed when it is full.
A number of eateries provide drinks and food and a colorful entertainment program ranging from rock to traditional will stimulate visitors prior to the games..
