Historical Hallstatt

It's hard not to be enchanted by the picture book perfect town of Hallstatt. Recognised as a Cultural World Heritage site, its idyllic lakeside setting, cosy ambience, and fascinating historical sites make it an appealing stop for summer visitors to the Salzkammergut region. New this year is a combination ticket that offers admission to Hallstatt's leading attractions.

All of Hallstatt becomes an experience for families and culture-loving travellers from all over the world, with spectacular journeys in time, breathtaking views and mysterious treasures!

In addition to such attractions as the new Panorama Lift in the high-valley in Hallstatt and the World Heritage Circuit Trail, you will be also be able to visit prehistoric burial sites at the world-famous burial ground on the Salzberg (Salt Mountain).

At the World Heritage Museum, soar from the Dachstein into the depths of Lake Hallstatt with the aid of multimedia technology. Step through a normally closed door of the Catholic Church and discover the secrets of the world-famous charnel house.

Plastic figures made by pupils at the Technical College sculpture workshop float on the lake and accompany you to the new 'art hall' where an exhibition offers a glance into the future.
