World Cultural Heritage

Hallstatt

Meeting in 1972, the General Conference of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) endorsed the "World Heritage Convention". Its purpose is to select the world's "cultural and natural heritage" and to detail those sites that are of exceptional interest and value for the whole of humanity in a "World Heritage List ". The Convention sets out to make an effective contribution to protecting the "World’s Heritage" through the concerted efforts of all peoples.

Join us as we visit such outstanding cultural sites as Schönbrunn and the Old Towns of Vienna, Salzburg and Graz. Travel through the captivating scenic beauty of the Wachau valley and Lake Neusiedl. Revel in the breath-taking mountain panorama of the Hallstatt / Dachstein / Salzkammergut region. And follow the route of Europe's oldest mountain railway over the Semmering, a landscape in which culture, technology and nature coexist in unique harmony.
