Austrian nightlife is diverse, with an infinite number of bars, pubs, clubs and discos that invite you to turn night into day in Austria’s provincial capitals.
Whatever your scene, Vienna nightlife has it all! Myriads of new bars, pubs, taverns, event centres and trendy watering holes for every taste have emerged in the last years. There are entire quarters, such as the Gürtel ring road, that come alive at night with clubs and bars offering a wide range of different music styles. From time-honored upscale haunts in the city centre to loud, hip lounges in the suburbs that stay open until dawn – Vienna nightlife caters to all interests and ages.
Lower Austria’s capital St. Pölten can easily hold its own with Vienna when it comes to Austrian nightlife. “Nachtschicht” features live acts, DJ performances and special theme parties, and is the ultimate place for dance fans. Those who prefer it a little less commercial, crowded and loud, will love the “Jester's”. The “Koll” and the “Kuckucksnest”, an old Viennese-style café, both stage live concerts. At the “Drunter und Drüber” all kinds of music is played from rock to pop and blues. If you like to socialise, then there are numerous bars and pubs, such as the “Tritsch&Tratsch” or the “Pfiffig” beer pub, to do so.
Eisenstadt at night – always worth a visit! A visit to a traditional “Heurigen” wine tavern on Domplatz square is best followed by a dance session at the “James Dean” disco, where five bars and numerous events offer plenty of fun and entertainment for everyone. But there are also many quieter and cosier pubs and bars, such as the “Cebu” or the “Dombeisl”, perfect for hanging out.
