Mayrhofen Run & Walk Park

Past fragrant alpine meadows, through shady mountain forests into high alpine regions with dramatic rock faces and summit formations...
This summer, the upper Zillertal is offering visitors a particularly attractive selection of running and walking opportunities with the new Run & Walk Park. Surrounded by the Zillertal’s imposing mountain landscape, fitness orientated holidaymakers can let off steam on a total of eight different routes. The running and Nordic walking routes have been designed for sport, but also go through particularly peaceful and unspoilt countryside around Mayrhofen and Hippach. As one of the most challenging mountain runs in Tyrol, the “Harakiri” Hill with its 78 percent gradient is without doubt the real showpiece of the Run & Walk Park. This gem of a route presents a special challenge even for fit, experienced runners who are familiar with the terrain.
Special Signage for Speed and Pulse Control
As a professional athlete with a personal training plan, an aspiring amateur with ambitious goals or an absolute Run & Walk beginner with lots of enthusiasm – the special system of classification used for the different tours ensures that every sportsperson will find his or her ideal route. In addition to information about direction, route length and difficulty, exact distances for the individual stages in the Mayrhofen Run & Walk Park are also given in kilometres. Runners and Nordic walkers are therefore able to personally check their own speed, their training pulse and their individual training rate at anytime.
