Known for its: Mountain Traditions
The charm of the region lies in its ties to tradition; it’s the feeling that you’re experiencing ‘the way things used to be’, right here on your present day holiday. Dairy farms dot the landscape and still remain at the heart of an area that is famous for its ‘Cheese Trail’. Some great sampling to be had here!

TRAVELLING TO VORARLBERG / BREGENZERWALD
Nearest airports are Lake Constance, and Friedrichshafen.

New for 2008
May 30 - June 1: Anniversary of the Bregenzerwald Cheese Trail. Be there as an attempt is made to recognise the longest cheese table in the world (1km long) in the Guinness Book of World Records!

Throughout Summer: the Angelika Kauffmann Museum in Schwarzenberg hosts an exhibition that features the letters wrote by painter Angelika Kauffmann to her relatives in Schwarzenberg. Kauffmann (1741 – 1807) is known worldwide for her late baroque and classicistic portraits and paintings. Although she spent time in London, Rome, Florence and Venice, the idyllic town of Schwarzenberg in the Bregenzerwald, remained her adopted home throughout her lifetime.
