Through the Lech Valley ...

... and along the Silvretta High-Alpine Road. If you want to get a real feel of Austria by bike, tour around Arlberg from a starting point at Imst. The Tour leads across the Hahntennjoch, through the Lech Valley and across the Silvretta high alpine road. Curves, curves, curves!!! Total length of tour: 250 kilometers

The tour starts at the parish church in the center of Imst and leads to the Hahntennjoch (can be traversed from May to October). The prohibition sign for caravans and trailers forebodes what awaits ahead: the road starts off rising softly but soon climbs up steeply in many turns and bends. Keep your eyes on the road despite the breathtaking panorama! Passing little alpine villages you descend to Lech Valley. Turn off left at Klimm and continue to Warth. The road leads along the rocky mountainside, passing through tunnels and avalanche galleries and winds itself up the Flexenpass to the Arlberg. Keep right and go to Bludenz via the Klostertal. Turn left, and drive along the Montafon Valley until you get to Partenen (toll point of the Silvretta High-Alpine Road). Your heart will leap: 25 hairpin bends await to take you to the gorgeous reservoir.
Return to Landeck via the Paznaun Valley.
