Country Trio in the Lead: An Update on the Zillertal Qualifying Race

The first ASG training days are over and even though temperatures outside are freezing, the qualifying race is beginning to heat up.

Since Friday, the first racers have been testing the course of the virtual Zillertal race and it looks like the actual race will be a tight one. „Spastard“ (1:13,513) from Austria is currently in the lead, with „MustangRocks“ (1:13,684) from Switzerland close behind and „SCRocks“ (1:13,718) from Germany in third place. Less than three-tenths separate the trio, which promises a tight race in the days to come.

On November 19, the ASG will enter a new phase with the first race weekend and it is safe to assume that one of the current leaders will win. However, a few promising candidates are dangerously close, among them „Huettengaudi“ and „StephanEberharter.“ An interesting detail on the side: all top racers used the ski settings 12/0/88, which requires a lot of training even under sunny weather conditions.

Don’t worry if you can’t keep up with the top contenders yet. In the coming days, our ski instructor “rudicarrell” will share tips on how to significantly improve your time. You can already get a glimpse of the ideal approach for the Zillertal race in his tutorial.
