Processed data categories
For guests and anyone interested in Austria, personal data such as name, address, language, and if provided also date of birth, e-mail address, tel. no. and special interests are stored and processed. In addition, we store the source of the contact and the type of inquiry, notes on registration or consent, the materials sent and associated advertising measures, as well as details of the previous activities and contacts.
As part of our tourism research, we may process statistical data, e.g. on overnight stays or customer satisfaction.
From subscribers to our studies and publications in the field of tourism research, we process, in addition to name, address and electronic contact data, also the name, address and type of the company associated, as well as the name and e-mail address of the other authorised users. When studies are downloaded over the internet, we save the time and the network address in order to detect downloads that are in violation of the contract.
From Austrian and international tourism partners we process, in addition to name, address and electronic contact details, also information on contact persons and their responsibilities, information on previous inquiries and activities, offers and deals, invitations and similar data resulting from our business and advertising activities.

We do not disclose personally identifiable information about guests and those interested in Austria to third parties. Enquirers are only linked to regional tourism organisations at their explicit request, e.g. if the requested information is not available from Österreich Werbung.
Publications and the contact information of our tourism partners will be published on the websites of Österreich Werbung, if desired and agreed upon. In the course of networking events, contact details of the participants and appointments between the participants of the event are exchanged.
Duration of data storage
Data which we process exclusively on the basis of consent is stored until consent is revoked by the data subject.
Data on contractual relationships is stored as long as required owing to statutory documentation and proof obligations. As a rule, this is seven years, in exceptional cases, e.g. in disputes or with certain contract objects, this can also lead to a longer storage period.
Data on Austrian tourism companies and tourism partners, which we need to fulfil our responsibilities as an Austrian tourist organisation, will be stored for as long as is necessary for this purpose. As a rule, they are deleted three years after the end of the partner's business activity.
Certain data which we need to defend legal claims will also be kept for the period of the statute of limitations (usually three years).
