Sophisticated hospitality is a 500-year old tradition at the five-star Posthotel in Achenkirch. In the Ying-Yang pool a curved border separates the cool 17°C waters from the warm 34°C area – in the outdoor sauna area you can feel the sensuous contrast between hot and cold. The luxurious pool is accompanied by a bar area, waterfall, lazy river and koi carp pond. Ten pools, among them two saltwater ones with panoramic views, form the relaxing and exhilarating aquatic environment of this luxurious wellness hotel. Deep beneath the ground lies the “lost temple”, a mythical sauna area with meditation rooms, salt caverns, a dragon and temple sauna as well as an ice fountain. In the Zöhrerhaus, the centre for exercise and meditation, you can recharge your batteries with pilates, yoga or qi gong. The Ergo Relax Physiotherm loungers are an absolute must to try out – a real treat for the back. Whether it’s celebrating in style, snacking in luxury or dining in elegance: the Postelhotel with its its eight gourmet restaurants is a top destination for gastronomes. The milk, butter, veal, lamb, beef and bacon are all farmed on the surrounding pastures and in the hotel’s own farm, while the herbs are plucked from the resident herb garden. The cheeses and honey are supplied by producers in the Zillertal valley and the marmalades and pastas are homemade. The trout and char is fished fresh from the Achensee lake. There is also a special buffet for allergy sufferers. The hotel has been honoured with three Relax Guide Lilies for its wellness offering while the kitchen has been awarded a Gault Millau toque. Surrounding this temple of wellness, the dreamlike mountains lead mountainbikers, hikers and climbers into the Karwendel nature reserve. The Postlhotel Alpengolf Golf Club is situated very close to the hotel on a sunny plateau, and the hotel stud provides much joy to the horseriders among us. In the hotel bar and cigar lounge you can bring the day to a close in splendour.
