Gallery Belvedere - Vienna

This Baroque masterpiece houses is one of Europe's most important museums, the Gallery Belvedere Vienna. In the Upper Belvedere the world's largest collection of paintings by Gustav Klimt is on display, alongside works by Egon Schiele and Oskar Kokoschka.
If the baroque ensemble of castles allowed for views of the pompous stable and the surrounding park during the time of the prince, today the Belvedere Museum is primarily about insights. Even part of the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage, the Belvedere Art Collection offers visitors an impressive panorama of Austrian art from the Middle Ages to the present day.

The Upper Belvedere houses the most important collection of Austrian art, ranging from the Middle Ages to the Baroque to the present day and supplemented by international comparisons. In addition to the world's largest Gustav Klimt painting collection - including "The Kiss" and "Judith" - as well as masterpieces by Egon Schiele and Oskar Kokoschka, prominent works of French Impressionism and Viennese Biedermeier are on permanent display.

The magnificent former living and entertainment rooms of Prince Eugen in the Lower Belvedere and the Orangerie are today dedicated to staging top-class special exhibitions.
