The 11km long Lake Wolfgang is SalzburgerLand’s largest lake. In addition to the two main resorts, St. Wolfgang and St. Gilgen, it has Strobl on its eastern shores, a pleasant town offering numerous hotels and campsites. The quaint Hintersee and the famous Lake Fuschl with its 4 public bathing beaches are both set amid the scenic landscapes of the Salzkammergut. The pretty Fuschlsee region is within easy reach of Salzburg and offers plenty of sports and leisure facilities, as well as an old castle overlooking the lake.
The Salzburg Lake District comprises the warm Wallersee and the three Trumer Lakes, which all offer good swimming, walking and cycling. Water sports are also a big draw here.
Zeller See enjoys a picturesque location near the Nationalpark Hohe Tauern and amid mountains. It offers a wide variety of water sports including sailing, water skiing and windsurfing. The beautiful resort of Zell am See-Kaprun is located on the lake’s western bank and it is here that you will find vast accommodation options.
This idyllic moor lake is nestled in Lungau, the southernmost region of SalzburgerLand. Thanks to is location at more than 1000m above sea level, the 10m deep Prebersee offers a refreshing dip for hikers throughout the summer months amidst stunning scenery and rare plants.
With attractions such as a water trampoline and floating islands, the Uttendorf Adventure Bathing Lake is a dream come true for children. The older ones can enjoy beach volley ball, a boulderpark, inline skating, table tennis and garden chess, and visitors of all ages are invited to linger on the Seecafé sun terrace.
