Originally built in 1386 as a mountain refuge, the heart of the arlberg1800 RESORT is the Arlberg Hospiz Hotel, which has been owned by three generations of the Werner family. Keen art collectors, they have turned the resort into a new cultural centre with a concert hall, artist’s studio, music studio, exhibition hall, and 17 luxurious chalet suites under one roof. The new arlberg1800 Contemporary Art & Concert Hall is an artistic addition to this historic resort and offers a year-round art and music programme.
The hotel has belonged to the Werner family since the 1950s, and today they own and operate the great arlberg1800RESORT. Florian and Ursula Werner and their son Thaddaeus continue the hotel’s legacy, whose history dates back to when the house was just a hut and shelter. Florian, who is an artist, added his creative touch with the addition of the Hospiz Art gallery and a new art centre.
Ski in one of the most wonderful skiing areas in the Alps and indulge in après-ski at the Arlberg Hospiz’s open fireplace with a glass of wine.
