“We are one of the biggest ski areas in all of Europe and we have become a freeride hotspot.”

Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn

One of the largest ski areas in Austria, the wide variety of terrain at Skicircus includes 270km of well-groomed pistes and lots of off-piste challenge. The resort villages of Saalbach, Hinterglemm, Leogang and Fieberbrunn are linked via fast modern lifts and brim with activities, international flair and the beautiful scenery of Kitzbuehel Alps. One of its most famous draws: more than 60 cosy huts specialise in superb lunches, delectable coffee stops, and après-ski celebrations among the best in Austria. We asked local ski instructor and accomplished freerider Markus Kofler for his tips.

Like Markus Kofler, powder lovers are attracted to the Skicircus and its freeride terrain. As a major stop on the Freeride World Tour circuit, the off piste is part of the fun. All ages love the sledding trails and fun parks, and attractions like Flying Fox XXL, Timoks Winter Coaster, and many miles of groomed cross-country trails at Nordic Park Saalfelden are just the beginning. There’s also a music-filled calendar of exciting events, from White Pearl Mountain Days, to the BERGFESTival, to the Rave on Snow. And of course no day at Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn region is complete without visiting one of its famously hospitable mountain huts. With more than 60 to choose from, the cuisine ranges from hearty Austrian specialties, to tasty treats like Kaiserschmarrn.
