Via Culinaria - Salzburger Land

Getting to sample local specialties and savor fine cuisine is as much part of any holiday as taking snapshots or writing post cards. The Via Culinaria, a creative initiative in the SalzburgerLand, provides a true gourmet experience. Seven culinary tours cater to cheese devotees, fish fans, sweet tooth, alpine hut addicts and beer aficionados, among many others.

The tours are leading to a selection of 60 award-winning restaurants, all well known for using local, fresh products. Amongst them is the Hotel Hubertus located in the small village of Filzmoos, where Johanna Maier, one of the world’s best female chefs, pampers her guests with outstanding regional specialities. The culinary pathway for cheese devotees can be discovered while hiking from mountain hut to mountain hut with an experienced cheese-sommelier and for every sweet tooth it will be hard to resist classic Salzburger pastries while visiting bakeries, cafes and patisseries throughout the country.
