If you were to line up Austria’s walking paths end to end, you could circle the globe with them. The routes range from high mountain trails in the west of the country to excursions through gentle hills and walks through the reed beds of Burgenland in the east. The impressions we take in along the way are every bit as diverse as the unspoilt landscapes. After all, walking is more than simply the act of forward motion. As we warm to the rhythm of walking, we gradually start to feel a lot more in touch with ourselves. And we open up to wonderful encounters between man, nature and culture.
