Visitors are encouraged to travel by train and a pick-up service is available from the station. Those who do come by car can park in Werfenweng and their car keys will be safeguarded for them at the tourist office. For Euro 5 guests receive a pre-paid mobile phone and the SAMO pass for all of their transport requirements. With the phone you can call ELOIS, a free electric taxi, which operates day and night. The electricity for ELOIS is generated using solar power. About 40 accommodations in Werfenweng participate in the “holidays from your car” scheme.

This environmentally-friendly transport concept is offered in 22 alpine towns, the so-called Alpine Pearls, across Europe. A long-distance hiking trail links all Alpine Pearls in Austria, Switzerland, Italy, France, Germany and Slovenia.
