An award-winning restaurant and the owner is Chef of the Year. When gourmets from all over the world make their pilgrimage to the village of Schützen they have one destination in mind: the Taubenkobel.
In 1984 Eveline and Walter Eselböck bought an old farmhouse in Schützen, a delightful spot in the mountains close to the Neusiedler See, and converted it into a restaurant, the Taubenkobel. Walter Eselböck who had no classic restaurant training began to take an interest in cooking, which was a stroke of luck for all gourmets, because by the mid 90s the Taubenkogel had become one of the best restaurants in Austria.
Eselböck has his own uncompromising style which perfectly combines extraordinary creativity, regional produce and unconventional thinking. The culinary masterpiece that is the Taubenkogel restaurant is complemented by a small and romantic hotel, plus a gourmet food and wine shop.
