Against an Alpine backdrop in an unspoilt natural setting, St. Anton am Arlberg is the perfect starting point for street bike tours. Jump in the saddle and take a tour over the Arlberg to Bregenz and around beautiful Lake Constance, or scale the Silvretta High Alpine Road. The season’s highlight: On 2nd August 2015, two-wheel enthusiasts will once again have the opportunity to take part in the ARLBERG Giro, a gruelling 148km long-distance road race across Austria’s Western Alps. Beginning in St. Anton, the race challenges riders over a 2400m difference in course altitude as they negotiate the Arlberg Pass, Bludenz, Montafon, the Silvretta High Alpine Road and Paznauntal Valley, before heading back to St. Anton. Bludenz is the lowest point of the race course at 580m above sea level and Silvretta Bielerhöhe the highest at 2032m. Athletes are separated into two age groups with top prizes up for grabs.
