The Danube Cycle Path begins in the beautiful old town of Passau on the German border and continues along the Blue Danube through Austria to romantic Vienna, a distance of about 230 miles. Along the valley there are many fascinating old towns and villages, including those where you will be spending the night. The cycle path is excellently signposted and largely traffic-free, making it ideal for family holidays.

Said to be the most popular and beautiful bike ride in Europe, peaceful valleys, fertile plains and terraced vineyards alternate with traditional farmhouses and magnificent monasteries. The day’s stages are easy and there is plenty of time for sightseeing. Accommodation can be booked in comfortable hotels, 3 or 4-star guesthouses or family-run pensions.
