Built exclusively of local wood, stone, and glass, this 4-star Superior Naturhotel Waldklause was opened in 2004. Particularly conspicuous is its modern ambience, which – despite the wood floors, walls, ceilings, and furniture – is more reminiscent of a design hotel than of a wooden Alpine hut. The Waldklause offers a total of seventy-six rooms and suites, each of which has its own spring-water well and, thanks to the floor-to-ceiling windows, spectacular views of the surrounding woods and mountains. The first thing one notices when entering the hotel is the pleasant climate of the interior, which makes one want to take deep breaths of this lovely air. This is the result of the building’s wood construction, and this healthful effect is even intensified in the suites through the cedar-nut wood found there. The ethereal aromas of this wood have a soothing influence on one’s organism and even lower one’s heartbeat. This means that on average, one’s heart must work one hour less every night at the Waldklause! In addition, the hotel’s own spa, featuring sauna, steam bath, a Tirolean herb sweating chamber, and massage rooms for Thalasso applications as well as “Alpine” massages, offers even more relaxation. Another wellness plus: the Längenfeld Aqua-Dome Thermal Spa is only a two-minute walk from the hotel and can be used free of charge by the guests. Also very close are the superb ski areas of Sölden and Obergurgl/Hochgurgl.
