Fine Dining on an organic farm
Chickens peck under the fruit trees. A regional breed of cattle, the Waldviertler Blondvieh, grazes in the pasture. Ducks and geese wander on the edge of the vegetable garden. The ingredients for the Salomon family’s award-winning restaurant are sourced from the estate’s bio-dynamic farm. Organic wines from the vineyard mature in the cellar.
Relax at the garden of Estate Oberstockstall
The Gothic chapel, the arcades, the alchemist museum, and the weathered aristocratic atmosphere tell of the long and colorful history of the Gut (Estate) Oberstockstall.
Taste the silky Pinot Noir of the house. Its red raspberry perfume pairs perfectly with the succulent breast of duck with fluffy dumplings stuffed with walnut and garnished with glazed red wine pear. Experience why the fertile soils and advantageous climate brought people to settle here in the Wagram region. The estate was already 700 years old when it was purchased by Karl Salomon in 1857. It continues to flourish in the attentive hands of his descendents and combines today a restaurant, a winery and a farm. A true gem in Austria’s countryside.
