The innovative architecture of the LOISIUM World of Wine, designed by Steven Holl, promises an unorthodox educational experience for the entire family. Surrounded by a beautiful landscape of vineyards, LOISIUM is located on the edge of Langenlois in the renowned wine district of Lower Austria, Niederösterreich.
Begin the tour with an elevator ride to the fermentation tank where a dazzling water and light show exposes the intricacies of a grape’s path from juice to wine. As you wind through the 900 year-old cellars, fifteen information points elaborate upon the mythology and history of wine. Films form the 1920s and antique tools reveal how much the practice has evolved over time. By the time you reach the Celebration Hall, the shadows of champagne bubbles dancing on the walls will inspire you to commemorate your adventure with a glass of something special for yourself. Before you leave, stop by the Vinothque to browse through the best wines of Lower Austria, and consult the in-house Sommelier for advice on which bottles to bring home..
