    A New Perspective

The crystal-clear blue lake is what you’ll notice first. Then, you’ll look up at the majestic peaks, a backdrop so picturesque it might take your breath away for a moment. Close by, a glacier is waiting for you, offering a world of ice and snow in the middle of summer.

Visiting Zell am See-Kaprun in SalzburgerLand tends to be like that: You’ll peel back layer after layer, and still find yet another delightful surprise. Activities here run the gamut from yoga in a serene Alpine landscape to climbing a dam on a specially-designed via ferrata. You can take an exhilarating helicopter flight one day, then lazily bask in the sun by the lake for hours on end the next. And at the end of your stay, what you’ll notice is that you can’t wait to come back.

Two Brits in Zell am See-Kaprun

We sent our friend Katy to explore Zell am See-Kaprun, and she brought along her husband Tony. See what the two got up to on their first-ever trip to Austria – and find more information on their itinerary below.

In Zell am See, you can easily hire a boat to explore the lake – and jump in wherever the fancy takes you!

    Stand-Up Paddle Boarding

This is the summer to try something new – like stand-up paddle boarding! You can even take a yoga class conducted on top of these sturdy boards, if you dare.

    Yoga on the Mountain

Speaking of yoga: How about doing the sun salute in front of a breath-taking Alpine panorama? The Zell am See-Kaprun region is known for its diverse yoga offerings, such as private lessons in the mountains, both for experienced yogis and complete newbies.

Guided Hike (Including Marmots and Sheep)

The Kitzsteinhorn Explorer Tour on Kitzsteinhorn mountain lets you experience Alpine nature guided by a local park ranger. Perhaps you’ll meet some marmots and friendly sheep like Katy and Tony did – but one thing’s for certain: You’ll explore 4 different climate zones, and end up on 3,000 metres above sea level.

    Tobogganing on a Glacier

Your tour ends at the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier – where you’ll be able to have a snowball fight or try tobogganing in the middle of summer!
